Generated fish roster — parameter provenance
Generated, not hand-written. One row per planner species, emitted by
python -m stocking.fish_roster emit. This table is kept separate from
the hand-written, literature-cited sections of docs/parameter_reference.md
(CLAUDE.md: that file is not auto-generated, and 1044 species cannot each
get a hand section). Every number here is derived, never a measurement —
the basis / clause columns say how it was reached.
How each column is derived
- size / N_mg — S2:
body_size_cmfrom the wiki, else FISHMORPH species, else FISHMORPH genus median (size basis);individual_N_mg = 0.567·L³/elongation². - T / pH bands — S1 (
stocking.tolerance_model): published keeping range widened to nested stress+lethal bands;water basisis the rung. A few temperature and pH bands come fromstocking/data/water_corrections.json, which overrules a wiki page measured to be wrong on that axis; those read as thespeciesrung, because that is what they are. - NH3_stress — S3 ladder: a published 96-h LC50 where one exists
(
stocking.ammonia_lc50, clauseliterature:*), else the habitat-pH map, else the air-breather floor (0.08), else the strict default (0.03);clausesays which. NH3_lethal = 7.5×, NO2_stress = 16×, NO2_lethal = 160× NH3_stress; O2 is a constant plus the air-breather trait.
Attribution
pH / temperature / size derive from The Aquarium Wiki (CC BY-SA 3.0) and
FISHMORPH (Brosse et al. 2021, CC BY 4.0; max_body_length_cm upstream
FishBase). The LC50 rung is US EPA ECOTOX (public domain, Olker et al.
2022) plus primary literature; the NH3 habitat-acidity map is anchored on
Souza-Bastos, Val & Wood (2017) and Frances et al. (2023). See
